Dune: Imperium blends deck-building with traditional worker placement, adding an element of hidden information to strategic gameplay. Inspired by the Dune legacy—drawing from Legendary Pictures’ film and the renowned literary series by Frank Herbert, Brian Herbert, and Kevin J. Anderson—the game immerses you in the battle for control over Arrakis.

As a leader of one of the Great Houses of the Landsraad, you must raise your banner, gather your forces, and deploy your spies. War is on the horizon, and at the heart of the conflict lies Dune, the desert planet.

Each player starts with a unique leader card and an identical deck. As you acquire new cards and refine your deck, your strategic choices will shape your strengths and weaknesses. Cards dictate where you can send Agents on the game board, influencing your approach. You might focus on military power, deploying more troops than your rivals, or instead gain political influence with the game’s four major factions: the Emperor, the Spacing Guild, the Bene Gesserit, and the Fremen.

Unlike many deck-building games, Dune: Imperium does not require you to play your entire hand in one turn. Instead, at the start of each round, you draw a hand of cards and take turns playing one card at a time to send Agents to the board. Once you run out of Agents, you take a Reveal turn, exposing the remaining cards in your hand. These provide Persuasion, used to acquire new cards, and Swords, which determine your troops’ strength in battle for the round’s Conflict rewards.

To lead your House to victory, you must master combat, navigate political intrigue, and build a powerful deck. The Spice must flow!
