Junos Network Secure is a licensed application for the MX Series 3D Universal Edge Routers that lets network operators implement stateful firewall services that underpin managed services, protect router resources, and establish a critical first line of defense in layered security architecture.

Implemented on high-performance service cards that ensure scale and performance without impacting the control or forwarding planes, Junos Network Secure can also reinforce standalone security appliances by offloading bulk filtering, and even replace outdated firewall appliances that add design complexity and consume valuable router ports.

Junos Network Secure can be implemented independently, in conjunction with other Network Edge Services such as Junos Address Aware, or as part of a policy-based service chain dynamically invoked using Junos Application Aware, Junos Subscriber Aware, and SDN controllers such as Contrail Cloud.
